The thing about the All-Blades and killing "true evil" is that evil is subjective right, and I imagine he can sense more mundane evil too he just doesn't feel the same call to use the blades. But like, I think it's fair to say that the Joker is the exception. I think even aside from the trauma Jason can feel the pull to rid the world of him. Imagine being Jason "literal divine power of justice" Todd and having Bruce tell you that actually you don't get to decide who lives or dies. Your anger is literally so righteous and purifying that you have magic swords attached to your soul and some rich man is telling you that you can't play god. I would be soooo mad like what are you even talking about. Perhaps you can't but I am the subject of a prophecy and also probably immortal and also I'm definitely not entirely human anymore. So.

Ough headcanon that the reason Scott Pearl and Cleo keep teaming up is because it's predictable. Scott has always been friends with Cleo he knows what she's like, knows what to and not to do. Pearl and Cleo are used to eachothers different flavours of hurt and betrayal. Scott and Pearl are expecting things to go wrong. They teamed up because "at least if I'm getting betrayed I'll be expecting it". Impulse is part of the team because he's experienced each of them as well, he knows how Cleo reacts to betrayal. He's been by Pearl's side when she goes crazy. He's experienced Scott's undying loyalty. He's been so dedicated and serious and thought, "Well if I'm going to have fun, might as well commit" This team isn't built on friendship and trust. It's built on "we can get along, we have before, and we can now. And if it goes wrong, so be it" A fourway agreement of "I'll protect so until you stop protecting me" and deep down all of them hope "I hope it can go back to the way it was"

Thinking about the CFAU and marveling at how much Danny and Jason care for one another. Does anybody else figure out that Danny is going to kill the Joker, or is that knowledge Jason exclusive? I can't see Danny being close enough to any other Batfam member to disclose his plans, but I wonder if he drops hints. They're a family of paranoid detectives. I'd be surprised if they don't figure out Danny has a PURPOSE for being in Gotham at some point. Whether Danny's able to disguise it as wanting to be closer to Jason or not is another burning question.
Its def Red Hood exclusive! You're right in that Danny isn't close enough to disclose his revenge plot to any of the batfam members -- hell, not even Sam and Tucker know his true motives for returning to Gotham, and they're his best friends right after Jason! And Red Hood knows only because Danny accidentally slipped up ;].
I do also think that the Waynes kinda think something might be up with Danny -- at least Dick and/or Bruce might since they're the only ones who actually know him beyond brief mentions of him. Tim knows about him due to his stalking, but doesn't really know him -- and Danny plans to keep a healthy, friendly distance from the family so he can carry out his plans.
It's not that he holds any dislike towards them -- quite the opposite. He appreciates what they do for Gotham and recognizes the hard work that goes into keeping their Rogues Gallery at bay (even if he is bitter about Joker, but there's an obvious reason for that) -- but, well. He knows they're the vigilantes, he doesn't want to risk them sniffing out his murder plot before he can even go through with it.
Luckily for him he can excuse any distance he puts between them as just being busy with life and trying to settle in, and they're not close enough to him anymore to find it suspicious. I do think they figure out he's back in Gotham for a reason, Danny's not going to exactly hide the fact that he's back to find some kind of closure -- but what that closure is?
I think the only person who might suspect something sinister going on would be Bruce, who saw the sinking rage in Danny's eyes at the funeral -- it was part of the reason he didn't tell him who killed Jason (beyond secret identity reasons). But that depends on whether or not Danny reveals some of his hand, and the fact that he was still holding onto that rage (somewhat unwillingly) all this time.
#dpxdc#danny fenton is not the ghost king#dp x dc#cfau#childhood friends au#cfau danny#dpxdc crossover#danny's kept this deep-seeded hatred close to his chest for years. he's so close to his goal he's more careful than ever. he's under the#watchful eyes of his home city and the even more watchful eyes of her knights. he can't make any mistakes here -- not after the last one#with red hood. every step he takes going forward must be a cautious one so he doesn't draw the light of the batsignal.#also! funnily enough danny doesn't blame bruce for jason's death. sure they had a fight but he's not the one who sold him out to the joker#he's not the one who beat him to death. who blew him up. he's bitter over the fact that bruce withheld the identity of his murderer from hi#but even he can recognize the need to protect one's secret identity so he doesn't hold it against him that much. he's bitter over the lack#of action against the joker but that's a personal vendetta and again he recognizes how hard it is to be a hero. he would never ask bruce to#kill the Joker. he recognizes the fact that a hero cannot play judge jury or executioner and he respects Bruce's adherence to his moral cod#he knows it must be hard and he agrees that batman shouldn't kill. ever. bc if the batman kills the joker what's stopping him from killing#the common criminal? its a level of self-restraint and self-awareness that all heroes must have. and he genuinely respects bruce for it#if someone wants the joker dead that bad they can go and do the deed themself -- that's what HE'S doing. danny recognizes that his revenge#is wholly selfish in nature. it is closure for him and jason and him and jason only. its not good its not righteous its murder and danny#has come to terms with it.

i'm sorry that i keep making posts along the lines of "look at this dumb thing i found on osctwt" but i just saw someone claim that nickel being disturbed by knife killing marshmallow causes a plot hole because of how knife tells baseball that nickel used to find murder funny. the fact that that was already the case in the original version aside, Noooo way you're Kidding me. you're telling me the guy who spent that entire episode trying to twist things in his favor so that he wouldn't have to think about the consequences of his actions was WRONG about something?? LIED ABOUT IT, even??? unthinkable. unfathomable. i can't believe that corporate katz has killed our crops and salted the earth so that good writing may never grow there again.

Prompt 1: Red Hunter
(Before we begin, I'd like to say that I've been awake for no less than 20 hours... And it currently half hour before midnight.
Okay?Okay. )
The story begin in the watchtower. Impending doom via asteroids, aliens, gods, ghost, terrible disaster or whatever you wish. Point is, the world might as well die if they fail to find a way.
Generic cult shit and badabing badaboom!!!
GH! PHANTOM!!!! Here to save the day!!!
There's a catch though, of course there is.
Dunno 'bout the technical rules cuz I did no proper research. But turns out that certain people just needs to die to preserve the balance of the world.
Grim reapers cannot kill cause all they can do is wait for death and guide the soul in the afterlife. They don't kill, unlike the popular belief that they do.
So what does that mean? It means that King Danny assigned one of people who summoned him to be his Executioner.
Who does he choose?
Isn't it obvious?
He chose RED HOOD, of course.
Cuz Danny instinctively knew that this man is a dying revenant, starving cuz he's not fulfilling his NEED for revenge and all that shit that made him possess his own body.
So Jason was given a new name, Red Hunter, a remembrance of the good old days. He was also given a book, except for the first page, the book was practically blank.
The first page was a contract, that the person was bound for life to kill ANYONE who's name appears in the book. That the person will do the task dutifully.
Jason, being chosen, signed it since he really have no problem in killing. Truthfully, he was glad that the Big Bat or anyone else (exempt Tim and Damian) was not chosen since, unlike him, they have morals that kept them from taking lives.
So, he signed it, the book vanished with a flash, Danny smiled in victory, disaster avoided and one, two, three!!!
Jason was awoken by his Ghostly Butler. A guide to help him do his job. A person who can answer his question.
So ask he did...
First of, where did the book go? Inside Jason, a little lesson of summoning the book give him a magical transformation to his Executioner outfit.
Does he have a time limit? Yes, apparently, it's 24 hours, a very good news.
What would happen if he fail to kill by the given time? A punishment to his own person. Ghost will attack him for several hours, or just bother him.
How does he do the killing? Whatever he decide. Death by bullet, stabbing, planned accident, poison, arson, or beaten. Really, for as long as he kill the person, the way he would do it doesn't really matter.
Why does he have a Butler? Cause of a previous issue with the last executioner killing themselves with their guilt. The Butler system was made so that that can be prevented.
How would he find his target? A ghost will lead him to it.
What does that mean? You will know at your first mission.
So he kills, what next? You shall use your thermos.
What does that even mean? You will know at your first mission.
Really, why does he have a butler? To give guidance and answer.
So, when will I get my mission? Now.
What?
So Jason took the book and there, written in a fancy calligraphy, the civilian name of Joker. Or at least that is what the ghost of his younger self wearing his old Robin costume said to him.

#Doodles#Clinical Trial#Angel Martinez#Lee Smith#I had far too much fun drawing that first one even if I do think it's OOC lol#I don't think he'd touch them that casually I just reallyyy wanted to draw it#Thus his apology afterwards lol#They're in a particularly delicate mindframe at that point! No way he'd touch them without their express permission#Though he sure does overstep in other ways huh - that's kind of his MO haha he won't lift a hand against their will but anything else?#Fair game#He's creepy! Convinced he means well and in some ways he does but agh#I like how I honestly can't settle on the way I feel about him haha - I just feel A Lot towards him!#I'd tell him to treat Angel well but I already know he'd literally die before he made any other move pft.... Oh Lee...#His self-justifications are probably the scariest part of him - the way he can turn so quick on a dime if he just convinces himself#''No actually I intended to do that from the start'' uh huh - guy who definitely had everything figured out from the very beginning#Sure Lee lol#Which isn't to say he's not intelligent! That's part of his problem really lol he can talk himself around with logical arguments#Doesn't mean he's right but once he's settled he's hard to unsettle haha#What he regrets and what he doesn't give such an insight into what he values as well#Murder? Just doing more good than harm - harm reduction even getting rid of someone without remorse#Better him than someone else and better Brandon than let him run loose#Neverminding him taking the role of judge-jury-executioner - and this is no defense of Brandon I do basically agree with them both#But that's still not Lee's choice#But the closet? Something he does regret - because that was selfishly motivated that was inward-aimed with outward consequences#Murder was to help Angel and anyone else in the line of fire - the closet was Lee's own pleasure above all else#Makes sense that he'd be more worried about one than the other and that order being a little skewed lol#Not something he could justify to himself and so it became a regret! Man - the fact that the Reject-Reject ending has him predict Angel :(#Wonder if it's something he could ever spin the positive on if given enough time - everything happens pretty fast thereafter#Impulsive guy.... But that is part of the Lot I feel towards him haha

"This isn't a punishment. You just need to be hit in order for you to stay in line. I love you." Why is this literally from a mouth of a parent who is defending spanking their 1-year-old because the baby needs to learn consequences.
